Ancient Egypt is one of the most sought for destination for holidays. What better way to spend your holiday than discover the beauties and attractions of the Ancient Egypt? There are many places in Egypt that will take you back to the ancient times, when the Empire of Ancient Egypt was one of the most powerful empires in the world. Probably the most visible features that remained to this day are the ancient buildings. The architecture of Ancient Egypt includes some of the most famous structures in world: the Pyramids of Giza and the temples of Thebes. Building projects were organized and funded by the state for religious and commemorative purposes, but also to reinforce the power of the Pharaohs.

Ancient Egypt builders were known for their building skills. They used simple but effective tools and sighting instruments. The architects could build large stone structures with accuracy and precision. Ancient Egypt was also know for its fine arts. For more than 3000 years, artists adhered to artistic forms and iconography that were developed during the Old Kingdom, following a strict set of principles that resisted to the foreign influence. The main features of Ancient Egypt art included simple lines, shapes, and flat areas of colour combined with the specific flat projection of figures, with no indication of spatial depth. The images and the texts were carved on the tombs and temple walls, coffins, stelae and even statues.

In terms of religion, Ancient Egypt was known for the fact that it was polytheistic. The belief in the divine force and in the afterlife were ingrained in Ancient Egypt from the very inception. The Pharaoh was based on the divine right of kings. Ancient Egypt had in its pantheon gods who had supernatural powers and were called on for help or protection. The gods were not always viewed as benevolent and the Egyptians believed they had to be appeased with offerings and prayers.

Ancient Egypt was also famous for having a strong army. Although rudimentary equipped with bows and arrows, spears and round topped shields, Ancient Egypt still was one of the most influential powers in terms of army. Ancient Egypt is still one of the many wonders of the world that fascinates a lot of people.
